Mara's Menorah
Of course you can guess who was the inspiration for this one: Richard's granddaughter, a budding artist from the time she could hold a crayon! When the time came for her to have a menorah of her own from Grandpa, color became the overriding inspiration, and no two of these pieces have the same color scheme. You can choose any combination and pick your own favorites, because each piece, like all his work, is custom-made. The shapes are fun, too. While the body of the menorah is metal, the "shamos" sits atop a triangular wood block, and a smooth wooden ball anchors the other end. Each candleholder sits atop its own distinctive metal or acrylic pad, and all of the pads are cut in different shapes and color. Wouldn't your little or big! artist love a menorah like this?????
Richard Bitterman artwork is virtually maintenance free. It is coated with a long-lasting lacquer which eliminates the need to polish or even clean. For most items, a sweep with a dry cloth or soft brush will suffice. Candle wax may be removed with hot water, and thoroughly dried (a hair dryer works well.) Never, ever use chemicals or put Bitterman art object in a dishwasher.
