We all know how landmark buildings in our time become integrated into our consciousness and even into our art. In the historic days of our European ancestors, the most prominent buildings were often castles, so it is no wonder that Jewish ritual objects, primarily spice boxes, often were presented in castle form. Richard Bitterman artwork is virtually maintenance free. It is coated with a long-lasting lacquer which eliminates the need to polish or even clean. For most items, a sweep with a dry cloth or soft brush will suffice. Candle wax may be removed with hot water, and thoroughly dried (a hair dryer works well.) Never, ever use chemicals or put Bitterman art object in a dishwasher.
