Tzedakah Box
Here's another piece from Richard Bitterman's Judaic toy box. A family sits at the Shabbat dinner table, with Mother lighting the candles. As we know, sundown is the traditional time for families to make Tzedakah, and the sundown image is created by a setting sun on the horizon of the box. In the picture shown here, the son holds out his arm, and you can see he is holding a quarter. You can also see a lever on the right side of the box--pull that lever straight out, and he drops the quarter into a slot. What makes this piece even more special is that you can customize the family to some extent, adding a child and choosing the coloring of hair and clothes. Some changes may not be possible, but Richard will be happy to accommodate your wishes if he can.

Richard Bitterman artwork is virtually maintenance free. It is coated with a long-lasting lacquer which eliminates the need to polish or even clean. For most items, a sweep with a dry cloth or soft brush will suffice. Candle wax may be removed with hot water, and thoroughly dried (a hair dryer works well.) Never, ever use chemicals or put Bitterman art object in a dishwasher.
